Biography:

Neil Ackerman is a past Law Clerk for a Bankruptcy Judge in the Eastern District of New York, and was a member of the Panel of Trustees in the Central Islip Bankruptcy Court between 1994 and 2011.. He has 30 years’ experience in representing individuals in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 Bankruptcy cases; trustees in Chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcy cases; corporations (including public corporations) in Chapter 11 Bankruptcy cases; defendants who are being sued in bankruptcy cases, for preferences, fraudulent conveyances, or other reasons; and Investors' Committees, Creditors' Committees, and Bondholders' Committees in Chapter 11 Bankruptcy cases. Mr. Ackerman has also represented clients in all types of real estate transactions (including in foreclosures, negotiating refinancing agreements, and in purchases and sales of properties, mortgages, and loan portfolios); and corporations in corporate and other business transactions.
