Cost to file chapter 7 in Pennsylvania

The chapter 7 filing fees in Pennsylvania are $338, but that doesn’t tell the whole story of the real cost to file bankruptcy. Bankruptcy lawyers usually charge between $1,000 and $2,000 to file a chapter 7 case, in addition to the filing fee.

PA Bankruptcy Court Locations

As referenced above, the bankruptcy code is a federal body of law administered by the federal court system. Pennsylvania federal courts are divided into three districts: Eastern, Western, and Middle. To service local populations and ensure that PA residents aren’t forced to drive to only one of three courts, the districts are further divided by division.
